Why is cabinet painting estimated separately?+
Cabinets require a different cleaning, preparation, priming and finish process than ordinary walls.
Does LMJ repair damaged cabinets?+
Construction and cabinet repair are outside the painting scope and should be completed by an appropriate provider first.
Can hardware stay in place?+
Hardware handling and access are reviewed for the specific project before the final scope is approved.
What affects a cabinet-painting quote?+
Door and drawer-front counts, exposed frames, the existing finish, grease or residue, profile details and access help define the work. LMJ reviews cleaning, preparation and the coating system before confirming the price; a wall-area estimate is not a cabinet quote.
Are cabinet interiors and shelves included?+
They are not automatically included. Identify interiors, shelves, exposed panels and other surfaces during the review so the written scope states exactly what will be painted.
When can I use newly painted cabinets?+
Handling and return-to-use timing depend on the approved coating system and site conditions. Confirm the product-specific care instructions with LMJ instead of assuming a universal drying or curing time.
Is cabinet painting the same as cabinet replacement?+
No. Painting changes the finish on the agreed surfaces; it does not replace cabinetry or correct construction damage. Needed repairs must be completed by an appropriate provider before painting.
How are floors and furniture protected?+
LMJ reviews floors, furniture and belongings with you before work. The protection and access plan is part of the agreed scope; furniture moving is discussed rather than assumed.
What preparation is included?+
Preparation is matched to the surfaces being painted. Cleaning, light sanding, ordinary nail-hole filling and paintable caulking can be included in the written quote. Construction or damage repairs are separate from painting.
Do I need to choose or buy paint first?+
No. Share the look and colors you have in mind. LMJ reviews the finish, suitable products and who supplies the materials before you buy them or approve the work.
How are scheduling and cleanup agreed?+
Tell LMJ about your preferred timing and how you use the space. Access, work sequence, protection and cleanup are discussed before the start date is confirmed. Exterior timing also depends on weather and surface conditions.
What will the written quote explain?+
The quote identifies the surfaces and preparation included, paint and material responsibilities, agreed scope and price. Optional work and exclusions are clarified so you can understand what you are approving. An online estimate is only a planning range.
